Eastnor Castle 2008

The 2008 Eastnor Castle Model Airshow has been confirmed as August 16th/17th.  This year will see new organisers; Steve Bishop and the team from the Wrekin club are now hosting this show in addition to the usual Weston Park show.  The success of the Weston Park show is a great credit to the organisers, and their skilled input will ensure that the Eastnor Castle show is one not to be missed. Precision Aerobatics Addiction 3D

The latest model from Precision Aerobatics is the Addiction 3d.  This is a park-flyer type of model and has a revolutionary method of construction.   The Addiction is constructed using state-of-the-art technology called FiberFusion.  This is a technique devloped by PA and is achieved by implemeting carbon fiber into the areas where strength is needed most.  This includes stringers, battery trays and perhaps most importantly, the motor mounting area.

I visited this event on the Saturday only.  I have to say for an end-of-season event it was very well attended.  The weather was great, the venue fantastic and a great atmosphere to top it off.  Next year I shall definately make a point of staying for the whole weekend.  Well done to NRCS for organising this to their usual stndard.  http://www.nrcs.org.uk

Weston Park 2008

The weekend of  the 14th and 15th of June 2008  organised by the Wrekin model flying club returning to Weston park for the 2008 Weston park International Model Air Show set in 1000 acres of park land ,Once again the emphasis of the 2008 show will be making the show a day out for the whole family. Over 10000 visitors where entertained in 200 by what has been described by many people as the best flying display of the year. All the traders that attended (over 100) had a successful weekend and all have said they will be back in 2008.

3DRC Skelmersdale Fly-In 2007

In late September the 3DRC held their third Skelmersdale fly-in which was, as usual, well supported.  A vast array of aerobatic and sports models were flown by a selection of pilots, both experienced and novice.  It is safe to say that the Skelmersdale club have mastered the art of hospitality, and we were fortunate to have their own excellent BBQ and their very methodical frequency control system in operation over the weekend.

As lipo`s seem to be taking over the world I thought is was time to get a balance charger to add to my pro peak range, my search led me to the RC POWER 601BC Intelligent Digital Multifunctional Balance Charger/Discharger (bit of a mouth full that), after lots of interweb window shopping a couple were ordered from Revolution Shop in Hong Kong priced at £55 each to the door!
